This is Why Rereading Books is a Good Idea

While I was reading Brave New World, I, of course, came across the scene where John whips Lenina and himself. The first time I read this book, I hadn't read Lord of the Flies, so I saw no connection. Reading it a second time, I see that the scene where John whips Lenina is eerily similar to the scene in Lord of the Flies where Simon is murdered. Does anyone else see this similarity?
